The Importance of having your Appraisal Business listed to Online Directories

You have now your website up and running and you do it because you know the importance of having a website. But did you know that listing your business to different online directories will help you boost your online presence and more customer can find you to use your service? Why is it important especially for small business owners with a physical location?

YES! It is important.

One, like I’ve said it will help you increase your online presence. The more listings you are listed the more customer will find your business.

Two, it will help you rank in search engines – you know the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) thing. Make sure that all information are correct and accurate across all the listing websites. This assures the customer that you are a legit business and don’t do monkey business.

Three, this is a good opportunity to advertise your business for free and I guarantee that this is effective.

What are the information you need to have in hand before adding your business to online directories?

I suggest that you prepare a cheat sheet so it will be easier for you or your staff to add your business.

  • Company Name
  • Company Address
  • Company phone number
  • CEO name
  • Number of staff
  • Year established
  • Company’s email address
  • Description – describe what company does and offers
  • Select Services
  • Select Categories
  • Company’s Logo
  • Website
  • Featured Message
  • Hours of Business
  • Company Logo or some photos

So, where on earth can you add your business online? Below are the legit online directories I used to add my appraiser’s appraisal business. Add your business as much as you can. Some directories use a third party site like Yext, a paid subscription and they will do the work for you or if you are just starting and don’t have that budget you may opt to add your business manually and you just have to wait for a certain weeks before your business to show up on that directory. You also need to provide supporting documents to prove that you own the business or some sites do phone verification, so make sure you put the correct phone number.

And one more, I suggest that you keep a spreadsheet with all the directories that you are listed and have the username and password saved or use LastPass instead, this way it will be much easier for you to log in and make some update on your profile if necessary. And most of all, be consistent with all the information and take the authority the own your business.

So, there you have it! Happy listing!
